With all this fine weather the Karangahake gorge is very popular with the Hauraki Rail Trail bringing more visitors to town and the Gold Discovery Centre really firing – great activities for the town. Roll on the rest of summer!

Christmas Day Lunch was another marvellous success with the restaurant fully booked with guests enjoying a leisurely lunch accompanied by great ambience and Christmas fare.
We have quite a few functions already booked in January and February which is great so please get in touch if you are considering a function.
Chef's Special of the month is Whitebait Fritters .We are running them again this month as they have been very popular.
A range of our ready cooked take out meals is available for sale at the restaurant – great for a summer’s night when you are short on time. Just heat and enjoy – curries, veal strips, lasagna, German meat loaf and more.

Have stopped for afternoon tea and cake and for lunch on Sunday. Roland the chef and owner offers an extensive knowledge of food, beer and wine.
His German dishes are superb for something different, but his use of fresh food from the local area is well done. He had desserts to die for many hand made ice cream based with fruit from his orchard. A well considered choice of wines and imported beers as well as an interesting Kawerau brew in the German tradition (white beer). Ambiance, fun, good service from our wait lady who is also German.
The four of us shared the entire dessert menu and left very happy with the whole experience. A must go to weekend treat in a peaceful spot out of town.
